Xi Marks the Spot
Xi Marks the Spot is an on campus treasure hunt at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Organizations are encouraged to register a team. The proceeds from the event will benefit Autism Speaks.

 April: Autism Awareness Month

Our Philanthropy is one that has the potential to involve everyone. We all know someone who deals with a form of Autism on a daily basis and the struggles they go through. Autism Speaks is a generous foundation that raises money in support of all those who have this unique diagnosis. Alpha Xi Delta has raised more than $6.5 million, and that is still continuing to grow. The month of April is World Autism Month, and we want to spread the word. Our sorority was able to light up a well seen city monument blue, which is the autism awareness color, for the entire month! The first of the month was our Light It Up Blue. We tie blue ribbon around trees all over the quad as well as paint the rock, in the center of campus, blue. We, also, were able to table weekly and hand out information packets, fact cards, stickers and tattoos. The community was able to purchase wristbands in support of Autism Awareness or just make a donation. In combination with these activities, we put on an AmaXIng Challenge, Xi Marks the Spot. We, also, annually host Autism Speaks Walk, Xingo, Taco Tuesday and Letters of Love. Everyone has an exhilarating around of fun at these fundraisers. Next year, we hope to have even more community involvement and raise more proceeds for such an amaXIng cause!
